The Arai Rebel helmet is marketed to street bike riders. Therefore the fast, aggressive and angular Maxus design was well received at Arai. The result is the first Arai road helmet design by JMC.

Arai Europe needed a clean, bold design to refresh the stalwart VX-3 off-road shell for 2014. Arai showed confidence in the 'Nitrous' design, which went on sale worldwide in early November 2013.

Full page magazine advert for Zeronine to promote a new KTM graphic kit design and the fact that the kit is officially licensed by KTM. I produced the copy, art direction and graphic kit featured.

Following on from the Arai VX-3 ‘Motion’ design, I submitted an altogether different proposal to Arai, which was a single colourway design in black and white based on a pencil drawing I had created in a style inspired by Maori art. I personally prefer this design to the ‘Motion’ so I was very excited to hear that they had decided to produce it for the global market.

Yrjo Vesterinen, managing director of Apico – the UK distributor for Japanese motorcycle helmet giants Arai – made contact and encouraged me to prospectively produce some helmet designs for Arai’s flagship motocross model, the VX-3. I will admit that I did need a little encouragement too, as Arai’s approach is to “consider submissions" rather than to commission a design. In other words try your best and we will take it or leave it. It transpired that my ‘techno-style’ submission was well liked by the global distributors and eventually went into production in three colourways, as pictured .
